Psidium guajava, Pink Guava

The guava is among the most famous fruits of the tropics. It is a shrub or a small tree that bears fruit with a unique, amazing, unrepeatable aroma. This aroma is so intense that it is enough to put a bowl with a few fruits in the kitchen and the whole room is filled with an appetizing exotic aroma. In addition to aroma, the fruits also have a very pleasant taste. That's why there's almost no preserve or tropical fruit nectar that doesn't contain guava.

Most guavas have large and hard seeds that are quite difficult to eat. This variety of pink guava also has such seeds, but they are concentrated only in the middle of the fruit, and the flesh around is consumed without problems. Unlike most tropical plants, the guava can actually grow and bear fruit in our conditions, even in a pot. Of course, it can stay outside only in the period without temperatures below freezing. In winter, they sometimes drop a lot of the leaves, but in spring the plant recovers, then blooms and sets fruit. The plants for sale are from seed, and such plants begin to flower and bear fruit after 2 to 4 years, depending on care.
